CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY & OBJECT GROUP SHOW
The Chamber Flute, said to have emerged as a medieval instrument,
journeyed from the Middle East to Europe in the 11th century,
accompanying choir prayers and court ceremonies. It is the precursor to
the modern flute and can be spotted in paintings and illuminated manuscripts.
(Seen Below in Images!) This particular Chamber Flute was crafted from thin
titanium, coloured a powder blue, malachite green with gold accents.
It is believed to be of Flemish origin and now lives in the MuMMID
(Museum of Musical Matters & Indefinite Designs, Melbourne).
